Android Just go to the Select Hike screen. Touch and hold the hike name you wish to delete. A menu will popup to delete the hike. Touch the menu and you1singlequote1ll get a prompt. Answer yes and the hike will be removed.
iPhone Go to the Select Hike screen and scroll the trail you wish to delete to the middle of the control. Touch the Delete button, follow the prompts and it will be removed.

On many Android devices it does. On iPhone it does not. If you put the device in airplane mode your GPS may not work on the trail. To save battery try turning off cellular data and maybe wireless but unless you know your device GPS will work in airplane mode do not try to hit the trail in Airplane mode. Apple Support Says:

No the app doesn't require any network connection on the trail, unless you're tweeting or sharing. Once the trails are downloaded you don't need a network. If you download the trails on a wi-fi connection your data plan will never be the wiser. GPS doesn't use the network on Android devices. Some, like an iPhone will use the network to try to get initial position information but should work on GPS only.

When you see this on your Android device it means Android has killed the app, usually on waking up to free up resources. If you have a lot of apps running you will see this more often. (Phones often have a ton of things running all the time.) Usually Android will restart the app and you will be at the main screen. It is the nature of the Android beast. You can do is try to reduce the number of apps running or keep the Sedona Hiking App the current app when putting the phone to sleep.

iPhone The iPhone version caches the Hike List. It might take up to two days for it to update the list. The easiest thing to do is restart the phone, or restart the app. To do this do the following: 1. Access the multi-task bar on the phone by pressing the home button twice. 2. Find the app in the list and press and hold the icon till a red minus sign appears. 3. Release and press the red minus sign on the Sedona Hiking App and it will shut the app down. 4. Re-start the App and go to the Select Hike screen and the list will refresh.

Android The Android version gets the list fresh each time you enter the Download Hike screen.

Go to the Contact Us page. If you just want to send a comment or praise :) just use the comment area. If you have questions or anything that needs a reply select the support radio button and fill out the fields. Some are required like email address for our reply. We will get back to you pretty quick.

In the 2.0 version the screen gets locked for 2 reasons. The first is speed. Some devices redraw the screen painfully slow. The map screens are all graphics and put a load on the devices. The second reason is linked to memory usage. The memory used by the map doesn't all get re-used properly and rotating causes the map to re-draw many times and makes the memory problem worse. So the map screen is held in the rotation it was in when you go into it. To change orientation go back to the main screen and orient the device however you would like the map to appear and go back to take a hike.

When the Sedona Hiking App isn't the active app the location updating is turned off to save battery. When the app is brought back to the screen the GPS location will correct. How quickly depends on the device. Sedona Hiking requests updates as quickly as the device can deliver them.

In the app Twitter client support was removed in 2.0. Seemed very few people used it, and a separate Twitter app can do a better job. It was a pain to keep up with all the Twitter apps and do a good job at it. So we made the decision to remove the feature.

It starts off big and gets smaller as the GPS fix improves. It is designed to give the user an indication of the GPS fix accuracy. It also will appear to be less accurate as you zoom in on the map but this is just the scale changing. It doesn't get smaller than about 15 feet.

Android When you turn on Show My Location the GPS will center the map on the current location. Due to the fact that the maps are limited in area, because they are trail maps and are offline images if you are far away from the trail then there is no map data to display. Just wait till you are nearer the trail head to turn on Show My Location.
iPhone In the iPhone version if you are off the map it will scroll to the edge of the map and popup a message informing you of the fact. It will tell you how to get back to the center.
